Next, we are going to interview the Group CEO of Simplika and CVO Lithuania, Ms. Akvile Kazliene. Akvile has been leading the Group for over seven years now. We have the pleasure to interview her today regarding the situation of the Market in 2021 in Lithuania.

How are you today Akvile? Thank you for being with us today. First of all, how are you and how was the summer?

We had an extremely warm summer this year and this gave us all the possibility to recharge ourselves by enjoying the weather and spending a lot of time outside. The possibility to travel or do other activities I did before the pandemic, gave me the feeling of freedom and joy.

How would you comment on the first half of 2021?

We had a really fast economy recovery and growth, which led life back to a new normal.
Businesses found their ways to continue their activities in post pandemic environment and most of the industries are living their best years to date, food catering and hospitality were the ones who suffered the most.

Yet the great summer positively impacted their activities as well. Our recruitment and personnel leasing services (EOR) are in the highest demand ever.
We are very happy with our cooperation with InHunt World as it provides us with a global view and knowledge of where the general recruitment industry is going and a wide network of partners who are always willing to support us on any customer’s need in many countries worldwide.

How do you see the second part of 2021? And what about 2022?

Business adjusted to the new way of working, offering a hybrid type of work, yet asking employees to come to the offices at least twice per week.
We observe that in most cases, employees rather stay at home than go to the offices.

Talent shortage still remains a very big issue and we observe another trend, 80% of all candidates request flexible work or fully remote work, as a number one priority.
Therefore, I believe that employers will need to offer flexibility, rather than demanding to come back to the offices.

The challenge will remain how to offer an effective and fast integration of new talents that require onboarding, while at the same time maintaining and flourishing a new remote (mostly), company culture.

In addition, I do believe that employers need to invest much more into developing employees’ competencies and skills. It is time to stop waiting for the perfect candidate and to start initiating upskilling and reskilling programs.

What are the industries that are hiring the most?

I do not know any industry which is not hiring today ?.

The most booming industries are technology, e-commerce, various back-office operation centers, Fintech, engineering, production and logistics.

Their businesses are in the highest demand for growth and in order for the company to grow, the attraction of new talents is a must.

What are the roles that companies are needing the most?

IT developers, recruiters (especially IT), engineers, data analysts, business analysts, finance roles (accountants with English language), AML and compliance roles, sales specialists.

Nowadays to find an office administrator is a big challenge as well. Employers are still looking for hard skills yet hiring for soft skills like critical thinking, fast learning, flexibility, good written and spoken communication, ability to collaborate, ability to make a decision and problem-solving, creativity, leadership.

What about the candidate market?

I am working in the recruitment industry for more than 15 years and I have never seen anything similar in the labor market before, as we have the situation today.

In July we hit the record of available open jobs in the market within 20 years, which leads to extreme labor shortage and demand.
Governmental institutions paid out compensations and a lot of people quit their jobs at the beginning of this summer with no intention to look for another job.

Therefore, we had a crazy summertime, with high demand from the business and a huge struggle to attract the candidates. I am hopeful, that autumn will bring some balance to the market finally.

What would you say are the top reasons companies should choose to work with CVO Lithuania and Simplika, over some other players in the market?

All of us are market experts with big passion for recruitment.
In all the cases we try to understand the customers’ need and to reflect with the best possible solution.
We seek for the long term partnership and we openly share our knowledge and market insights with our partners.
We promise quality, partnership and trust.

Thank you for your time Akvile!
